Network - Introduction

Rainmail Server, when deployed as Rainmail Firewall and/or Rainmail Proxy Server can act as your network Gateway to the Internet. In this case, all requests from your LAN to Internet will go through Rainmail, and you can use Rainmail Server to monitor and if required, restrict Internet access.

The client machines, then need to be configured to use Rainmail Server for Internet access. Rainmail Server must be set as

  • DNS
  • Gateway and
  • Workgroup name

in the client machine The next few sections give instructions on how the same is done.
